Passion is a subject that is hard to find in individuals; a love we should all have. For this project, I followed along with my friend, Danielle Augustine. Danielle’s life can be easily summarized, her life revolves around rocks. Her true passion in life is rock climbing. Just about everything she does involves rocks. Danielle is a student at Northern Kentucky University, pursuing a major in geology. She does her typical college weekly routines but with a twist. Like anyone else she takes time to study, go to class and works, but adds on a lot more. She is involved with the NKU Climbing Club and works a second job on the weekends at Muir Valley Nature Preserve in Red River Gorge, located in Rogers, Kentucky. Danielle accepted this job so she could fulfill her passion for rock climbing. She lives out of her car at Miguels Pizza Shack every weekend for her love. “My car feels more like my home than my house does.” Taking on this project gave me more inside on her life, community and passion. Documenting Danielle, you will see a rock anywhere she is. Rocks and climbing are her oxygen she needs to breathe. It was truly beautiful to witness what she goes through just so she can “send it”.

Crazy how climbing takes whatever mood I am in and makes it better. I love climbing'“

Thank you, Danielle, for me letting me climb along.
